Ans. Students who have passed the Standard 12 board examinations, secured a place on the merit list published by their educational board, and received a Letter of Eligibility for the scholarship from Reliance Foundation through their school.
Q2. What is the Letter of Eligibility?
Ans. It is a letter sent to students, inviting them to apply for the scholarship.
Q3. How does Reliance Foundation shortlist the students who receive Letters of Eligibility for the scholarship?
Ans. Students are shortlisted on the basis of the Merit List received from educational boards.
Q4. Are meritorious students from all boards eligible for the scholarship programme?
Ans. Yes, with the exception of students from the ICSE board.
Q5. Are any of the scholarships reserved for members of the SC/ST/OBC and other categories?
Ans. No. This scholarship programme is awarded purely on the ‘merit-cum-means’ basis.
Q6. How many Letters of Eligibility does Reliance Foundation send?
Ans. Letters of Eligibility are sent to the top 15 scorers in the state.
Q7. Do the top 15 scorers in all states get these Letters of Eligibility?
Ans. The top 15 scorers of all states except Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa get these letters. In these three states, the letters are sent to the top 10 scorers in every district.
Q8. Is there any age limit for applicants?
Ans. Yes. The applicant should not be more than 20 years of age, as on April 30 of the year of application.
Q9. Are there any economic criteria for selection?
Ans. Yes. The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh.
Q10. Is this scholarship programme open to specially-abled students?
Ans. Yes.

Ans. Reliance Foundation makes the payment directly to the student, after verifying documents provided.

Q14. Is the scholarship awarded only for specific courses?
Ans. No. The scholarship is awarded for all under-graduate courses.
Q15. What is the duration of the scholarship?
Ans. The scholarship is provided till the completion of the selected course.
Q16. Are there any conditions for the continuation of the scholarship?
Ans. Yes, the student must clear all the subjects in his/her first attempt.
Q17. Is there a fixed scholarship amount given to every student?
Ans. No. Different amounts are awarded for different courses.
Q18. If the awardee drops out while pursuing the course due to some unavoidable circumstances, will the scholarship be continued?
Ans. No, the scholarship will be discontinued, since no gap is allowed while availing the scholarship.
Q19. Is there a scholarship programme for post-graduation courses?
Ans. At present, there is no such programme.
Q20. Are there scholarship programme available for students in other academic standards?
Ans. No. The scholarship is only available for under-graduate courses.
Q21. What is the mode of payment of the scholarship?
Ans. Once an applicant is selected, Reliance Foundation remits the amount for the first year of the course directly to the student’s bank account.
Q22. How is the scholarship amount paid in subsequent years?
Ans. Reliance Foundation pays the scholarship amount for the year directly to the student’s bank account, but only upon submission of copies of the previous year’s mark sheets and the current fee receipt.
Q23. Does Reliance Foundation have any programme for the scholarship alumni?
Ans. The Foundation is working on a project for them.
Q24. Is any preference given to female applicants?
Ans. No.
Q25. Does Reliance Foundation offer jobs to scholarship awardees after they complete their course?
Ans. Not at present.
Q26. Does Reliance Foundation invite scholars for plant visits?
